Tools->Options->Ladder Editor->Enable Quick Key
Personally I just use the INS (Insert) key on the keyboard and start typing the instruction, look-ahead does most of the work for me, and I don't have to remember another set of short-cuts for the instructions I already know....
And there's no "menu" either, your short-cuts can (if enabled) sit across the top of the ladder window, making that valuable space a bit smaller....
addendum... for the commonly used instructions, you can always use the "Language Element" toolbar, which you can (but I rarely do) scroll through the different instruction categories, to choose the instruction you want.
From the toolbar, you can click, placing the instruction depending on whether you are in "append APP" or "insert INS" mode (bottom right of the screen, right-click it to change it, or Ctrl-I to toggle it), or drag the instruction onto the rung.
Don't forget you can customise the contents of the "Favourites" tab of the Language Element toolbar, adding instructions you will use regularly. There is even another toolbar that is not visible by default, "Ladder Common Logic", that is also configurable.
Just use the INS key, it's easier..... suggest you try it out, I'm sure you'll find it easy to use.
