Hi guys,

Good day!

I just want to verify something.

We are to upgrade an S7-400 stand alone instalation to a Fault-Tolerant S7-400 system. We also need to make the existing Wonderware HMI to be the same.

I'm thinking that all I need are Simatic Redconnect and CP 1XXX cards to make the Wonderware HMI fault tolerant. Am I correct or am I missing something important?

I was able to use redconnect before and I know that for Redconnect to function, MAC addresses are used instead of IP addresses. However, I don't remember Wonderware having a driver for Siemens MAC address. That's why I am asking the above question.

Hoping for your opinions. Thanks.

I think that Wonderware uses connections setup in Simatic Net. If that is the case, then you will not setup the conenction details (IP or MAC address etc.) in Wonderware but in Simatic Net.

It is possible that Wonderware has a direct driver that does not use Simatic Net, but with Redconnect you will be using Simatic Net.
