The simple answer is yes this is what I always had to do.
What is the pv 1000 you are using as it has been a whirls I think you have to use the map plc 5 in your compact logic to get it to work
drop me a pm if you are not sure what I am saying and I can send you an example
Depending on the version of Panelbuilder32, the comms method, and the PV1000 firmware level, you may be able to access Logix tags directly, but using the SLC/PLC mapping is a "for sure" way to do it with INTs and older hardware/software.
I remember using it in Ethernet and been able to access the tags direct but on the rs 232 versions I had to use the plc map.
It's been a good while now that I have used a pv with clx or compact as pv plus has taken over for better or worse but that's a hole other post
Yeah after I convert all my code to SINT's to talk to an obsolete HMI I think I will just spend an extra few days and install some new ones. I need some Spare PV1000's anyway. Thanks for the help Guys!
Yeah I can use an LK5 for my new tags and dupe some screens.... were adding servos to an old machine a couple extra bucks wont kill us.
