dtam plus to pc communication

Hello,

I am needing to upload the program from a 1747-DTAM plus (serial# DTAM-0695A1916) to my pc.. Currently the DTAM communicates with the SLC5/02 via a 1747-C10 cable. I have 2707-NP (DTAM Programming Software) installed and it only lets me select from COMM port 1 or COMM port 2.. The DTAM manual(2707-801.pdf) says to use either the 2707-NC2 or NC5.. However, I do not have an RS-232 port on my DTAM.. The 1747-C10 cable has the RS-485 connector on one end and a... "bigger RS-485" on the other end to connect to the DTAM.. Does any one have a part number handy for the cable to connect the "bigger RS-485" to a male RS-232 port?

Make sure you are referencing the DTAM Plus information.

The free DPS software programs the DTAM Micro and DTAM Plus.

The DTAM Plus Installation Guide seems a little more complete.

I am sorry, it is not a DTAM Plus, it is a 1747-DTAM-E... Correct me if i am wrong.. but there is no "programming of the DTAM-E" this dude purely looks at the tables.. and writes or reads to them?

Make sure you have the manual 1747-6.1

Besides the 'Module Setup procedures' (chapter 3) and setting up the 'Quick Recall Functions' (chapter 6 - optional) you just read/write PLC addresses. Chapter 8 states how the PLC can set up messages in the DTAM. I never used this capability.
