I'm sorry , this is one of those dumb ones. I have a Line Driver Output Encoder going backward on a 1756-HSC. Am I correct in saying thatI can swap Out A+ and Out A- , Out B+ and Out B- , Out Z+ and Out Z-to change the direction of what I am seeing in my program.Thanks in advance,

I switched Out A+ and Out A- , Out B+ and Out B- , Out Z+ and Out Z-to change the direction , and it is still counting down. Is there something I needto change in the 1756-HSC ? Thanks,

I believe there is a configuration setting to change direction but I'll address the wiring.

Method 1, swap A pair with B pair keeping polarity

Incorrect Correct

A+ -> B+
A- -> B-
B+ -> A+
B- -> A-
Z+ -> Z+
Z- -> Z-

Another method, but perhaps more confusing, invert just one pair

Incorrect Correct

A+ -> A-
A- -> A+
B+ -> B+
B- -> B-
Z+ -> Z+
Z- -> Z-
