Perhaps I shouldn't have spoken before checking it for myself. The one I used was probably ProfiBus. I could have sworn they had one when I was researching Communicating between a ControlLogix and a Siemens S7-315. I will have a look.

I am looking for a native card not a bridge that can operate as a PROFINET I/O controller
 
MICKEY - I saw that one but it does not let the AB controller work as an I/O controller it lets the AB device work as an I/O module on PROFINET

I am a little confused. Do you want the AB ControlLogix to Scan Profinet I/O, or do you want it to respond like Profinet I/O for another device?

It appears to me that the one suggested by Mickey will do that. However, I also inferred that you wanted a Card that would install in the Logix Rack. Am I correct in that assumption?

A native card is my preference - the module mentioned by MICKEY lets the Logix look like an I/O module on PROFINET I am looking for an I/O controller module for Logic
 
Seems like you are looking for a card similar to the one that Molex, AB and Prosoft built for a contrologix chasis but controls profibus drives and IO.

AFAIK no one makes one for profinet yet. I am very suprised no one has done it yet. I know lots of people apps where it would be useful. I have a lot of siemens master drives here on profibus and when I change them to sinamcs it would be nice to use them on profinet.

Good thing though is siemens has made interfaces for thier drives and IO to be controlled over Ethernet IP (Contrologix)if you are using Siemens gear.
 
Have there been any advances on this in the last few years? I'm looking for the best way to have a Controllogix PLC scan Profinet I/O.
