I am trying to get data from a Serial Barcode scanner from a Siemens S7-300 CPU 315-2DP . I am using CP343-1 ethernet Interface Card and a MOXA NPort 5110 (Serial to Ethernet Converter) . Does anyone have an example on how to make this communication?

I would really appreciate some help

Serial cannot be converted directly into Ethernet and vice versa.

Moxa NPort can only work together with PC with special driver installed (for Windows, Linux, BSD and some other OSes), but not with PLCs.

(I'm not familiar with Siemens, and may be wrong). The only solution i think is to get serial module for Siemens and connect your scanner to it. Also, the PLC software should support the scanner communication protocol.
