Hi all,

I am working with a GE 90-30 PLC and a IC693MDL930 isolated relay N.O. output module and have a question.

It is my first time working with an isolated module is the only difference between an isolated and non-isolated that you can drive different voltage rated loads from each channel ( card specs permitting) ie Channel 1 can be 24V dc and channel 2 can be 120V AC?

Thanks in advance

Thanks I kinda figured that, was just curious as to why the engineer spec'd an isolated card when all the DOUTs are driving 24v relays for all loads 120VAC/24VDC.

Don't isolated cards generally come at a price premium. Just doesn't seem like this application requires isolated channels.

Isolated modules give you maximum flexibility, but at the cost of fewer outputs per card. The 90-30 modules only have 20 terminals. Since you need two wires per output you can't get as many points on an isolated module as you can with a non-isolated.
