Hello all,

Where I work we have some proximty sensors wired to a S7 ET200 input card, for the plc to use and also display on SCADA, they now also want lamps next to these to show where the machine is (it can be in three positions with a sensor for each). The sensors and junction box for them are virtually next to where the lamps need to go, however the ET200 is a bit away and doesn't have any spare outputs so will n eed to extend or find a couple of other spares and run cables half way round the factory, can I just spur off the cable for the plc input to the lamp or will this cause a problem for the plc input?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Maybe wire the prox to switch a two pole relay. One pole firing the Plc input, with the other pole energizing the lamp. That way the two stay isolated.
