SLC 5/03 and a 2711C-T4T panelview

I just want to let you guys know this site has helped me in the past so I am calling on you guys once again. I have a SLC 5/03 with a micro 300 panelview through an AIC module. I have cross referenced a replacement for these panelviews with 2711C-T4T. I can connect ethernet with no problems but since we don't have enough room in the panel to install an expansion back plane to install a ethernet module. I am looking for what I can use to make this work around using the rs232 port on the SLC 5/03 and the 2711C-T4T panelview rs232 port DH485 protocol. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The 2711C-T4T can hook up three different ways to the SLC-5/03 controller.

1: RS-232 with DF1 Full Duplex protocol. Just connect a serial cable (null model type) between the PanelView and the SLC-5/03 Channel 0 serial port, and leave the SLC-5/03 serial port in default DF1 Full Duplex protocol mode.

2: RS-232 with DH485 protocol. Same physical connection but the SLC-5/03 Channel 0 serial port is configured for DH485 protocol over RS-232. I don't see a good reason to do this.

3. DH485 to Channel 1 network port. I would have to look up the cabling for this, but in general you can connect a PanelView Component to a 1747-AIC or 1761-NET-AIC over DH485.
