if there anyway to create a DH+ Interface to a AB SLC 5/03

I am afraid not...

I think replacing it with a 5/04 will be the most cost effective way, plenty on eBay used. Or look for a rs232 to dh+ interface but you'll loose channel 0.

Can you describe one of the "many ways" to connect a DH+ network to a SLC 5/03?

Jstolaruk is probably right, replacing your 5/03 with an 04 is probably the easiest by far.

Potentially though, and I say potentially because I'm not at all sure, and coordinating the two may be a HUGE pain.

Prosoft MVI46-DFNT card to allow your 5/03 to communicate through ethernet, or some other device that does such, and then....

Prosoft AN-X2-AB-DHRIO to convert the Ethernet to DH+??

I currently use the AN-X2-AB-DHRIO with my 5/04 to convert DH+ to ethernet, but I dont see why you could'nt use it in the opposite fashion.

You probably would want to look into it more, thoroughly but its an idea if your completely opposed to just taking the easy route and buying a 5/04.

did you look at the manual?

Max, perhaps you didn't notice that the OP wanted to connect the 5/03 controller to DH+. Not DH485, which certainly has "many ways" of connecting to the 5/03. The 5/04 is another story.

Most methods to connect the 5/03 to DH+ will probably end up being more expensive than just swapping out the 5/03 for the 5/04.
