So I was trying to figure out machine Uptime.
I have two retentive timers.
One only runs when the machine is running in Automatic mode, the other runs all of the time.
This works pretty good.
Currently, I reset the timers at 5:00 am each day, that’s when the first shift comes in, and I also reset the timers when the counters are reset.
The thing is, if the operator shuts down all power which includes the PLC, then the time while the power is completely off won’t be counted as down time.
I guess if I want to take that into account, I’ll have to use the Real time clock more.
Any suggestions on how I might go about this?
