Under Tools\Options\Appearance CXP will allow you to adjust the cell width and font size.

The ladder font, selected in the mentioned location, also makes difference.
Fonts of the same size differ by width. Try Arial Size 7 Regular.

Forgot to mention number of lines setup, for names and comments, in the same location.
