RS Logix 5000 on Mac

I am thinking of getting a MacBook Pro, but I want to be able to run RSLogix 5000 through VMware fusion and connect to a Compactlogix 1769-L35E,.
Has anyone got any experience with this?

as the new MacBook Ethernet connection is via a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter, does this cause any problems?

Can't say for certain but I would think it won't be an issue to use the thunderbolt port. Besides you can always use a USB Ethernet adapter too.
