OMRON CP1L RS-485 ASCII TXD/RXD sample?

Howdy. I've got a CP1L here with CP1W-CIF11 RS-485 interface module installed and I'm trying to teach myself how to transmit ASCII data, so far unsuccessfully. The ultimate goal is to transmit ASCII commands to a stepper controller, but right now I have the output going into a RS485>RS232 converter --> RS232>USB converter, and trying to monitor any data transmitted by the PLC in a serial terminal window when I close input 0.07. I'm not getting anything.

Does anybody have some guidance for me, or perhaps a sample program that I dig through to figure it out?

You may need to modify the value of the control word.

You did not indicate which CP1L you are using, or in which option slot the CP1W-CIF11 is installed.

You will also need to properly configure the port under the Settings option in the Project Workspace. ASCII would require the setting be to No Protocol.
