communication Proface with s7-400

Hi, I'm looking someone with experience with hmi proface,
I have at work hmi proface connected to S7-400 through interbus.
I'm struggling to understand how hmi and plc are communicating.
So far I find out that hmi writes two words to data block in plc(uses two words to communicate).
But when I looked at code inside hmi I cant understand addressing
