Hello everybody:
I am trying to make wireless connection between HMI (eTOP507) and access point (router). Am thinking to connect wireless USB adapter to the HMI (there is usb port in the HMI) so that get rid of Ethernet cable between HMI to the router.
My question is that could it be done in this way or not?
Thanks a lot advance

The point is that I have now HMI with two USB ports and two Ethernet ports. I need to get rid of cables by making the HMI wireless connected the router (Access Point) and thereby access to the HMI by using WiFi from my pc or smart phones.
Are there any suggestions to make this wireless connection?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Hadi

I might have been wrong. I see this panel is running windows CE, so it might be possible that is has a driver build in for it. the panel does support printing to USB printer.

You can also try a WIFI repeater or something similar with an ethernet port to connect your panel

How much do you want to spend? Many consumer-grade routers (I like Asus myself) can be flashed with third-party firmware (Tomato, or DD-WRT) and set up is wireless bridge mode to another access point or router. I've used this setup successfully in the past.

On the other end of the spectrum (no pun intended) Aruba makes a series of wireless access points and controllers that will do what you want. Much more expensively, but more reliably as well.

You get what you pay for. If you're eliminating cables to the HMI, how will you power it? Batteries?
