Off topic, Communications, I am the worst at this.
I was trying to read serial data from a Cognex camera, and I don’t seem to be able to view it.
I tried swapping Rx and Tx, but nothing...
I wanted to make sure that the USB to serial Com port is working, on my laptop so I ran Hyperterminal, and plugged a Loopback connector to my com port.
The Echo came back good, so I am sure that the Com port is working.
What I want is to be absolutely positive that I can get a signal from a known source, so I thought that I can connect two laptops together.
Is there a way to connect two computers through serial ports using hyperterminal, or RealTerm?
Do you need a crossover cable between them?
Thanks
