earthing checking method on PLC

Dear All,
One of our customer wants to measure the earth condition 24X7 wants us to show in on its SCADA, I never heard anything which can measure the earth online... any body has any suggestion regarding this...

If anyone can answer whether or not this can even be done (and I doubt it), it is Mike Holt. His site is easy to find. If it can be done, Holt will know what equipment is needed. Then you can figure out how to interface it to a PLC/SCADA system.
 
Last time I did an earthing check on a PLC installation I used a multimeter on the ohms range, so if you could get an instrument that reads ohms and can get that value into the PLC you should be OK.

We continuously monitor earth connections on trucks while they are delivering raw materials to our plants. We use earth monitoring units made by FDB Electrical Ltd who specialise in this type of application. They may be available in your region. Try http://www.fdb.uk.com/

Are you not simply measuring the resistance between the truck and a known ground? Essentially, making sure the earthing lead stays connected, right?

Is that what the OP is asking? To monitor the earthing connection of a PLC chassis? I thought the original question was how to monitor the "viability" (for lack of a better word) of the actual earth connection of the facility.

Tricky question.
