Hello,

I'm in need of a solution to send data from RSLogix5000 PLC to a couple of heating controllers that have an RS232 Modbus interface.

Some point I/O is already on the machine and I came accross this Prosoft ILX34-MBS232 module.

Does anyone have usefull experience to share or a better alternative?

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Hi Nick,

I have used the RS485 version of this device with good results.

Fairly easy to set up if you are used to the Logix 5000 enviroment.

Prosoft technical support is also very good and free.

Hi Nick,

I have also used the Anybus communicator from HMS.
It sits on Ethernet IP (EDS files/AOP profile are supplied) and supports Modbus serial and RTU.

I found this more difficult to initially set up, but technical support was from Sweden and ok.
Once set up, it worked very well, even with large amounts of data.
