GE VersaMax Micro Serial Port Question

I have a project where we specified a UDR003 Micro with an analog expansion unit. The RS-232 port was intended to communicate to a wireless router / modem to enable responses to polls from a SCADA system. The customer then wants to add a simple HMI for local viewing of a few variables. Is there an available port splitter (I used one once with a AB 1200 Micro) or a serial expansion unit. Trying to keep the cost down. Appreciate any input

I should have mentioned it is a GE versamax

If you have not yet purchased the HMI, Red Lion HMIs and Weintek/Maple Systems/KEP/Nematron HMIs can read in from the RS232 and send out RS232 on a second included serial port or Ethernet Modbus to act as a gateway. A small Weintek (4.3") goes for as little as $350 including shipping, if you shop around. Both the Red Lion and Weintek include the GE drivers for free. That Versamax Micro RS232 is willy sloowwww, IMHO.

A better choice for the PLC is the IC200UDR020 it has 20 I/O instead of 14 I/O and an option to add a second port, either RS-232, RS-485, USB or Ethernet. It costs about $30 more plus the optional second port which will add about $140 more.
