:beerchug:Hi everyone!
The issue is that I have a machine with a PLC ELAU MAX-4 and can’t upload program from PLC. (I need to do some changes.) I’m able to monitor data with a PacDrive Diagnostics v2.1.0. I have EPAS-4 v00.24.03. I get an empty project when I trying to upload program.
While uploading the files with extension *.pro I can see the message: Receive file SOURCE.PAC xxxxxx bites. Then this project opens without any program…
I connected to PLC with Ethernet and RS-232.
Does anybody help me to solve this problem, please.
P.S. The firmware of the PLC MAX-4 is FW v00.16.42.

If the project wasn't pushed to the SD card, you're not going to have any luck doing it this way.

I would find your project archive and verify it against the online code.

Is there other way to upload program?

please check ip address of that drive and configure ip address to youe pc make .than try some time comunication problem or, it will give o packet recive

If the original programmers never downloaded the source code to the CF card on the Max-4, you will never be able to upload it. It sounds like this is the case

It sounds like the project you are using to login is not the correct project since you have compiler errors. Epas4 will not let you login to the controller if the project does not compile.

hi, solved the problem? I have the same situation. When trying to open a project directly from the max-4 in EPAS - 4, no projects are visible. HOWEVER, at the stage of connecting to the controller, if you select "search for controllers" in the network. I see my controller and SPECIFIED the name of the project in it and the author .... the project is there!!!!

I will add that, with the backup program, the image was extracted to the PC perfectly. Can I convert a backup file to a project file? And open in EPAS for make changes.

With the Max-4 (PacDrive M) controllers and EPAS-4, the programmer has the option of storing the uncompiled source code on the CF card or not. Also, the source code stored on the CF card may not match the compiled code that is actually running. So if you upload an empty project or no project at all then it means the original programmer did not download the uncompiled source code. Unfortunately this means you have no way to get the code from the controller. Because you can connect with Diagnostics also does not mean you can get the source code. Diagnostics is a separate software tool that allows you to monitor the state of the controllers and standard data from the servo drives.

Thanks for the quick response. Regarding the backup that I did directly from the controller. From this file I can not create a project?

The backup file is a compressed image of the contents of the CF card. If the uncompiled source code is not stored on the CF card (see my previous post) then you will have the same problem.

Thank you, now I understand everything. I looked at the CF, there is no project there. Am I right? that now the hope is to find a specialist who will re-create the project and remove one of the broken servo motors from the configuration. Without this, the ring does not work .... Thank you very much.

Thanks itkp222 , I was able to import the project from the file sourse.pak from the controller MAX-4. I connected to the controller via Ethernet and created an empty project . On CF I have only some files without *.pro . Дякую itkp222
