Hi,

LINK TO NETWORK DRAWING http://imgur.com/TDib2rx

I have two devices connected to one Stratix 5700 NAT switch. I need to communicate both devices with a Server.

- Device 1: 10.51.10.10 (255.255.255.0);
- Device 2: 136.129.5.5 (255.255.248.0);
- Server: 10.51.100.10;

The rules are:

1) You can not change IP addresses of the devices - these must be as given;
2) You must translate 136.xxx.yyy.zzz into 10.51.xxx.yyy. This is a MUST. This is because You have got multiple instances like this one. Please refer to drawing.

The question is:

Should I do just NAT translation for Device 2 and that's it ? Should I set "Pass through all not NAT instances in Stratix 5700 NAT ?

Could you advice me how I can solve the problem ?

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING:

S1 = S2 = S3 = S4 = S5 = STRATIX 5700 NAT (1783-BMS20CGN)
S0 - Stratix 5700 (1783-BMS20CGL), IP address 10.51.xxx.2, gateway 10.51.xxx.1

IT devices and IT network - I do not now what is there, we do not touch it and we do not change anything at this level.

Thank you for your help in advance !

You will need to NAT device 2 and maybe device 1 depending on the subnet mask of the subnet where your server sits and if it can change or not.

Remember you will need to set a NAT for both directions Public to Private and Private to Public if you need bidirectional communications.

The Plc Kid, thanks for you feedback.

I am sure IT will do translation both ways of PRIVATE: 10.51.10.xxx, 10.51.20.xxx, ..., 10.51.50.xxx TO PUBLIC 10.51.100.10 so 10.51.10.xxx ... 10.51.50.xxx will see 10.51.100.10 and Server will see 10.51.10.xxx ... 10.51.50.xxx

Let's focus on S1 only.

1) Is it possible to solve my problem with the type of the switch 1783-BMS20CGN used for S1...S5 if you considered all information written above and in my previous post ?

2) How I should configur it at S1 level ?

What I should configure within S1 so I can pass 136.129.5.5 and 10.51.10.10 through S1 ?

Should I set NAT from Private 136.129.5.5 to Public 10.51.10.xxx and Public 10.51.10.xxx to Private ?

What gateway I should use in S1 ?
What NAT Gateway Public to Private translation I should use in S1 ?

If I connect Device 1 to Fa1 and Device 2 to Fa2 and Gi1/1 will be the "output" from the Switch to S0 will it work ?

I realize IT will do NAT of Server IP address and pass it through to S0 than I will need to do NAT translation of NAT IP address of Server from Public 10.51.10. xxx to Private 136.120.5.xxx in S1 if it makes sense ?
