Gents,

I've a Micro830 A-B plc with a 2080-IF4 analog input plugin attached to it.
When I'm online and monitor the inputs I see the ModId value on analog input 0, the vendor ID on input 1, the ProductType on input 2 and the ProductCode on input 3.
This all instead of the analog value.
After a chat contact with TechConnect I had to replace the input module, the guy told me that it was a "dead on arrival".
Now I've installed the new unit and this gives the same results.

Have anyone off you any idea what to do?

Thanks in advance!

Jack

Could you provide more detail:
Are your inputs voltage or current?
How do you have them wired to the IF4?
What do you have wired to the COM pins on the IF4?
How and what have you connected to the IF4 to test it?

The inputs are configured for voltage.
On input 0 and 1 is a joystick connected which gives a 0,25 to 4.75 volt to the IF4.
On input 2 and 3 are connected to potmeters which give the same voltage signals as the joystick.
Com's are connected to ground.

But separated from this all, I think it is very strange to get those strange value's when online...

I've tried that, but with the same result.
The value doesn't react on any difference on the input of the plugin.
This morning I've also tried with an ordinaire potmeter, still the same...

I've returned the complete PLC and analog Plugins to our supplier.
They tested the IF4 on another Micro830, and this worked as it should be.
So I'll get a new unit under warranty.

Thanks,

Jack

can you post a zipped copy of you program
NOTE
you can not scale in a function block

I can post the program, but the final program which I used was a complete empty program with only the hardware configuration.
This to make sure that I didn't make a program fault.

Why can't you scale in a function block?

sorry I was thinking of a similar PLC

Unzip this folder
then import the 7z file to your Program
it has some other helpful files as well as analogue scaling
