J45-to-DB9 to TTY S5 connection

Hi,
can any one ever work with connecting rs232/tty for S5 using J45-to-DB9
my computer does not have rs232 port, i have J45-to-DB9 , so i am thinking of connecting J45-to-DB9 then coonect rs232 DB9 to the rs232/TTY which i have

I have it and it works.
