1758-L71 Channel 0 talk to Ronan Annunciator???

Seeking guidance.......
Have a system SLC504 channel 0 is talking with Ronan annunciator.
Before migrate the SLC to Controllogix L71, want to find is it possible for L71 channel 0 with 1747-UIC converter talk to Ronan annunciator? Refer screen shot program for detail.

That is a very interesting challenge !

The 1747-UIC definitely will not be involved. The USB side of that device can only plug into a Windows computer, and the 1756-L71 has neither the correct physical, electrical, or logical ability to use the 1747-UIC.

The screenshots that ctsoft attached show an MSG instruction configured for Channel 0 of the SLC controller, sending a "485 CIF Write" of 22 words in length to the B3:0 data table of a controller at Node 9.

Ctsoft, do you know if that Ronan display uses DF1 protocol or DH485 protocol ?

Is there an RS-232 to RS-485 physical adapter anywhere in place ?

It's possible that a networked device might work for this interface, or a chassis-based module like the 1756-DH485 might be necessary.

There is not physical adapter RS232 to RS485 in between SLC and Ronan.

Any recommendation beside add on additional 1756-DH485? On my new

controllogix hardware architecture I do have 1756-EN2T, can i make use of

this module talk to Ronan?
