Panelview plus

I have an application that I am trying to run in a panelview plus 700. When I load the application and run it, it goes to a blank white screen. Under the startup options in the menu tree the only thing checked is the initial graphic box, and I have my main screen in the space provided. Can anyone tell me why my screen would not be loading when I run the application? I am learing as I play with this thing, and I'm stuck as to what else I can check. Thanks in advance.

Found out what my problem is, if there is anyone out there trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. After I had set up the screen I wanted to start out with under the startup tab, I did not create a runtime file. Did that now and everything looks good. Just a note for future learners.

Be sure to configure a 'shutdown' button on an accessible screen!
If you set the PV plus to auto execute a screen on 'startup', then there is no way out....
I didn't have this problem....but it wouldn't be hard to find your self there

thanks for the tip. I already had this done, but only because I read it in the manual while I was looking for a possible reason to my other problem. Right now I am trying to figure out how I can import tags from a PLC5. When I browse tags, I can get to the word level from the online folder, but I cannot get to the bit level. Any ideas?

With the SLC 500 you can only browse to the word level. You have to manually enter the bit. I would imagine the PLC 5 would be the same.

Have you tried testing the application on your PC before downloading? See if it does the same thing there. My guess is that it is not loading your initial screen.

Try Application - Test Application to run it on your PC.

As far as it not loading, I have done this several times. Remember to create the Runtime and then download. I frequently will make a change and then download only to download the last (old) version because I didn't create the Runtime first.

Why

RTA, I hate to pick your brain, but can you or anyone else explain why you can only browse to the word level in PLC5's and 500s?

You can cycle power and tap on the touch screen during the power-up sequence to get to the config menus.

As to why you can't browse to the bit level I don't have a clue. All I know is you can't. See this link:
