PV & SLC5/05 Pass-Thru Help

I have some old customer equipment. A PanelView 900 color (2711-T10C9) which has a DH485 Sub D connector communicating with a SLC 5/05 via its serial port. I need to upload/download a program modification to the PV. I don't have an old PIC unit or a USB -> DH485 adapter. An old ATA memory card would work if I had one and a computer with a PCMCIA slot.

That is why I was wondering if I could use the pass-thru feature to communicate to the PV through the SLC via Ethernet and then from the SLC to the PV using DH485. It's been a long time since I tried this. What is the setups to do this? Thanks.

I actually have one system here with a master SLC 5/05 cabled back to the office over Ethernet. The 5/05 bridge is configured to browse a DH-485 network on Channel 0. There are 16 SLC 5/03 DH-485 nodes and 1 PanelView 1000, all of which I can see and access. Works very well.

I did see that TN. Wasn't sure if it applied to doing uploads/downloads to a PV. Mostly discussed MSG instructions. Let me take another look at it. Thanks.

Yep I can upload/download the PanelView 1000 no problems.

From the Technote (at the top)...

"Note: The pass-thru routing table in the SLC 5/05 must contain the IP address of the computer, this is required to see the PanelView terminal with RSWHO and to upload or download to the PanelView terminal."
