I am working on a project for a company that has a continuous process. Therefore they cannot stop for testing of new code debug. They have set up a simulator system that consists of a PLC-5/80 (yes that is what the process is using) and RSTestStand Enterprise. I have been working on site testing the modifications that they require with this setup. I am attempting to recreate this at my office to eliminate onsite time.
I have installed RSTestStand on a PC and on another PC installed SoftLogix 5. I have installed their TestStand application and the PLC program in SoftLogix. While some of their functions from TestSTand appear to be operating, others are not (like I/O). Their PLC 5/80 is standalone and is not attached to any real I/O so TestStand must be tricking some of the I/O. The Softlogix is not accepting these I/O requests. Has anyone else tried something like this and made it work? If so any suggestions?
