Eberle PLS 511S fault led ???

We have a Eberle PLS 511 S plc that has a red led illuminated the led is labeled " S " does anyone know what this indicates?

I have spent the entire morning looking for a hardware manual for the 511 series plc but as we all know this PLC has been obsolete for quite a long time...

we do not have the OEM source code. and at least at this time we can not go online with the process for diagnostic purposes.

any help is appreciated.
