Does anyone know if its possible to pull amps or hz from this drive through the 22xcomm? I have it networked and added to my RS5000 configuration tree. I think you have to add more data links but not sure how or if its possible.
What network protocol are you using in conjunction with the 22-XCOMM-DC-BASE DSI External Communications Kit?
EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, BACNet, LonWorks?
You will need both the Powerflex4 Manual and the 22-comm-e manual I linked above.
You will need to send a message to the drive asking for the parameter value where what you want to know is stored. Amps for example.
The parameter NUMBER where the Powerflex stores the AMPS value will be in the Powerflex4 manual. Parameter number structure can be different between drive models so always check that drives manual.
If you added the PF4 module to your RSL5K application without any "alterations" the Hz feedback from your drive will be found within Word 2 of your drive's Output data image(CPU Input) , decimal point implied.
Open up the Tag Browser, find the PF4 hardware defined tags, expand the I(Input) tag; the first word is referred to at bit level and represents the Status of the drive; Word 2 is examined at word level and it represents the drive's speed Feedback; for PF4 the feedback units are Hz(every other PF drive family returns EUs); if the Feedback shows 400, the drive is running at 40Hz.
I'd study the 22-COMM-E manual for the data transfer capabilities of the EIP comms adapter.
