Hi.

I have an issue with the Control Net module 1756-CN2R that keeps generating 'Duplicate Node Detected' (DND) in random ControNet nodes in the entire star redundant network which retains until the module is power recycled. The only way to get rid of the "DND" is to recycle power at the affected nodes. Please find the attached configuration for the source of duplicate node detected error. I have all fiber module 1786-RPFRXL v2.005 and RPA/B. There redundant system. Remote chassis connected by optics. Periodically there is a network failure, resulting in loss of the node (s) network. Maybe someone faced with a problem.

I tried to change the settings configuration RSNetwoRX media configuration - does not help.

0 - L74/B 19.53
1 - RM2/A 20.005
2 - CN2R/B 20.20
3 - CN2R/B 20.20
4 - EN2T/D - 10.7
5 - EN2T/ D - 10.7
6 - EN2T/D - 10.7

Did you configure media and all converter in RSNetworx to match you fiber configuration? Can you post XC file?

I would recommend to contact regional Rockwell office to evaluate configuration.

Because the Node ID is encoded at the very beginning of a ControlNet packet, if there are propagation and conversion delays in the network timing, the previous packet can overlap the beginning of the next packet.

That's why it is crucial to configure the Network Properties correctly, so that RSNetworx can configure things like guardband time so that the network signals run reliably. RSNetworx needs to know about all the cables and repeaters in the system.

This can be complicated and requires very detailed information from the installers and designers of the system. Just knowing that it's a redundant system with repeaters isn't enough; the exact layout and length of all the segments is critical information.

I know the exact length of all paths, and the number of repeaters. I understand that it is necessary to specify all the parameters. But, as I was not trying to do it - it does not help. I tried to reduce / increase the length of the cable and the number of repeaters - does not help.
Do you think it is related to the configuration of the media RSNetWORX or hardware problem? That just did not try. Now the network is configured with a single channel A.

PS. In the settings configuration RSNETWORX media must specify all of the module and the cable length, which are in our network, or is the maximum path between two extreme points?
(I tried to configure and so and so - does not help: ((()

In RSNetworx you must specify the total length of each media type (Coax and fiber) on each channel and total number of fiber converters you have (on each channel).

I would recommend you not to guess anymore and get regional Rockwell office involved.

Thank you for your help. The problem was solved, it was in the optical cable. More precisely in the connector. The attenuation in the normal range, but in microscopy - seen strong contamination. Well, that was found specialist equipment at the facility.

P.S.Topik can be closed.
