Diodes for unipolar encoder connection

I recently heard that using diodes for unipolar encoder connection is a good idea to reduce the influence of noise.
The diodes go between A and ground, B and ground and C and ground.
See attachment.
Does anybody has experience with diodes In this kind of situation?
