Hi,

I am just learning to work with Beckhoff controllers and am trying to set up TCP/IP communication with a Siemens S7-300 PLC. In the process I accidentally messed something up or have forgotten the IP address of the controller itself as I am not longer able to PING it at the expected address. o_O

I am also not able to find it in the System Manager > Choose Target > Search (Ethernet) > Broadcast Search method.

Is there a way to retrieve the IP address of the controller or to factory reset the controller?
I saw a thread here talking about factory resetting a CX9020 but my CX9010 has a compact flash card which I do not have have a port for on my computer.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Whoops! Thanks for the reply Archie.

I wasn't paying close enough attention. I have a CX1010 which needs to be reset (not CX9010).

In the mean time I picked up a CF reader and spoke to NA Beckhoff Support and their suggestion was to run Wireshark to find the IP address (which showed me the address - which was set to what I thought it was) but I am not able to PING the Beckhoff. Wireshark had multiple messages in the log which were:

385 28.000032000 Beckhoff_1e:25:3a Broadcast ARP 60 Gratuitous ARP for 172.16.25.13 (Request)

AND

386 28.110905000 172.16.25.13 172.16.25.255 NBNS 110 Registration NB TEB-830<20>

The only devices on the submask right now are my PC (172.16.25.100) and the Beckhoff (172.16.25.13) so I don't think there is a IP conflict.

So I think I am just going to overwrite the Beckhoff CF and restart, I'm just in the testing stages now so it isn't a big deal.
