How to get the value from encoder 15S-20M8 via 1769-IF8 module?

We have a small project to control a blade up and down. After the configuration on 1768-L43, we downloaded the program and DIs and DOs are functional.

We plan to use an encoder (part number: 15S-20M8-0360NV1R3PP-J00-S1) to monitor the height of the blade, so we connected it to 1769-IF8 module.

But no matter how to rotate it, this is no value change on 1769-IF8 channels.

Could somebody tell us how to figure it out?

A IF8 is a analog input card. It works with 4-20 mA type of signal. You will need a High Speed Counter card to work with a shaft encoder.

The 1769-IF8 is an analog input module.

The encoder specifications you listed show it is a digital encoder with 2 channels in quadrature (overlapping by 90 electrical degrees).

Either connect the encoder to a high speed counter input or change to an analog output encoder.
