I'm trying to install a 1734-OE2C (F/W 1.003) analog output module with a CompactLogix L16 and the module is coming up with a yellow triangle. Other modules are OK. I disabled keying, but the status shows Connection Timed Out in Logix. If I click on the module info tab under properties, it pops up with "Path specified invalid or module not responding."

Is this another F/W version incompatibility with a compactlogix? I went through a similar ordeal last year with a IE4C on a L18.

I have tried Logix F/W versions of 27 and 20 with same result.

It very well could be. I started a new project just to see if I could tell you something. The only revision level of the project choice for me is 20 and when I added that particular card it only has revision 3.1 selectable. I have all previous versions as well as 20.03 version of Logix 5000. I have come to realize 20.03 has compatibility issues with different versions. So, could this be part of your issue?

Nope, as I mentioned, I tried F/W 27 as well.
And here's a tip for you: Download Logix v20.04. It is a new release that Rockwell came out with over a month ago that allows you to work with both 20.01 and 20.03 versions. :D

Man it would be nice if Rockwell had a compatibility matrix for these hardware issues.

You may need the Add On Profile.

Look for 1734 analog card AOP.

Thanks, 1734 PointIO analog.

Unfortunately this appears to be for higher revisions of F/W:

Code:
Minimum Module /	Minimum RSLogix 5000
Catalog Number / Series Firmware Revision	Software Revision
1734-IE2C /C 3.016 V15.00
1734-IE2V /C 3.016 V15.00
1734-IR2 /C 3.016 V15.00
1734-IT2I /C 3.016 V15.00
[COLOR="Red"][B]1734-OE2C /C					3.016 			V15.00[/B][/COLOR]
1734-OE2V /C 3.016 V15.00
1734-IR2E /C 3.016 V15.00

This is a 1734-OE2C/A v1.003

Out of curiosity, did you buy the OE2C new? Just that I have one that's been sitting on the spares shelf for 6 years and it's Ser C REV A02 F/W 3.004 (working system is V18 on the CPU).

1734 POINT modules Series A were compatible with the DeviceNet adapters, and Series B were compatible with DeviceNet and Profibus adapters.

Series C modules (3.x firmware that you see supported by the modern V15 and higher AOP) are compatible with all adapters and controllers.

The modules themselves are considered consumables and are not flash firmware upgradeable.

Yes, just finally spoke with Rockwell about it and they confirmed exactly what Ken said.
I need to swap this A with a C.
