SLC 100 with handheld programmer

Hi I am new to plc's I want to program a 3 story elevator with it and want to use a 12v dc battery the specs on the motor for current is load current .91A max 1.37A, and no-load current .34A. This motor is bidirectional DC motor. Can I use the plc for this motor?
