I did a new installation of RSLogix 5000. When I open a project if you look on the tree to the left, if I double-click the "Controller tags" a new window doesn't open to show me the TAG list.

I never seen this before and I'm suspecting that there is a setting that enables this behavior. I'm looking at the project "Offline" if that shines any light.

first guess ...

the new window IS opening - but it's positioned on (actually OFF) your screen so that you can't see it ...

try opening the Window feature from the RSLogix top menu - and see if "Controller Tags" is listed there ... if it is, then we'll go further ... if it's not, then shut the software down COMPLETELY ... then try a restart - with your fingers crossed ...

NOTE: this happens quite often when people try to "resize" a window when they're finished with it ... basically they grab an edge and "fold up" the window to make it smaller ... eventually there comes an "oops!" event - where the window is folded down to just one or two pixels - and then the sort of problem that you SEEM to be having is the result ...

Ron,

Thank you so much, that did the trick.

another issue I'm having, this time with FTV Studio which I install yesterday, is that when I try to open FTV the first thing that takes place is a Pop-up windows that wants to install "Rockwell Automation Drives PowerFlex 7 Module Profiles". This did not allow FTV to convert a .PVA file for a Panel View 1000 that I had to the newer Factory Talk View.
