I have to reload the back up program but with this program can't go on line while with empty project can be online successfully.
will some one help for this? o_O

I don't completely understand your question. What software are you using? Serial communications or Ethernet? What have you been able to accomplish so far?

The steps you need to follow should be:
1. Start the programming software.
2. Open the backup project file.
3. Go online, at which point the software should tell you that the project file on your computer is "Not Equal" to what is in the PLC.
4. Send both the program and hardware configuration from the computer to the PLC. The software calls this a "download", even though many people consider it an "upload".

Many Thanks for replaying. I am using Machine edition 6.0 with serial cable. I have backed up the program four years back from same plc (IC693CPU341) now I need to download it back to plc but as I mention with uploaded project I can't go online for downloading. When I validate the target there are 27 errors while I didn't did any thing with the program. There are two files having extension . bak and .swxfc. Would you please how to do error free validation?

You will not be able to online until you deal with the errors. Each of the errors will appear in Proficy Machine Edition's "Feedback zone". Press SHIFT + F3 to step through the errors. Double click on each error in the feedback zone to jump to the location in the program that generated the error.

I am not much expert so unable to remove the errors. can you please solve this problem. I can send you the program. Please provide your email. I would be much oblige of you.

Go into the 'Navigator' window and select the 'Options' Tab preview theses "options" and set any that you find labeled as "Prevent" or "Show as Error" to "Allow" or "Show as Warning".

In the option tab there is not any folder or file labeled as "Prevent" or "Show as Error". Would you please explain more?

Look at the "Properties" of the different parameters.
Make the "Companion" window visible while you select the different "Parameters" to view their purpose and get an explanation of the different settings.

Taking some time to "get to know" your software will make you a more efficient trouble-shooter. (y)

If you would post the list of 27 errors I'm sure that someone could give you more specific answers.

Why is this so difficult for some to understand?
"DETAIL in your question promotes DETAIL in my answer."
Where have I seen this before?

Dear RussB, I have removed all 27 errors and warnings. now validation is ok but I can not be online and while trying this I clean eeprom of cpu and now communication is not possible. ( Communication utility). Is there any way to rewrite the eeprom or firmware?

If you were unable to get online with the PLC, you didn't "clean the EEPROM".

One of the common reasons for failure to establish a connection serially is that Proficy is trying to communicate over a different COM port than your USB/serial converter. Check Windows Device Manager to see what COM port your converter uses and then check the properties of your PLC target to make sure you are using the same port.

Unless you have a 'special' processor, the Firmware on these CPUs is on a PROM chip and cannot be erased. They can use an EEPROM to hold the program and hardware configuration, is that what you have? Not being able to go online to the CPU is a different problem and will need a different troubleshooting method. What have you done towards this so far?

Details for that CPU are in this manual:
Series 90-30 Installation and Hardware Manual, GFK-0356

Watchdog error means too much time has elapsed between I/O updates, usually because the scan time is too long. The watchdog timer defaults to 200 milliseconds. The fault could be a one-time event related to your earlier problems. You must clear the error before you will be able to restart the PLC.
