I'm looking for some options for collecting data from Mettler scales. We will be collecting 1 reading/sec from 5 scales and need to store that data on a PC for future retrieval. Obviously cost is a concern. I'm not sure what (if any) heads are currently being used on the Mettler scales. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mettler-Toledo offers interfaces and software just for that purpose. http://www.mt.com/mt/filter_link/pf.jsp?m=t&tr=E5MzU3MzcwMS1QfDc2NjU1NzM3MDEtQ3w1NjY1NTczNzAxLUMi_T

I assume their is a plc already being used, if so you could setup a PC using DDE or OPC to put the data in something like Excel or a database.

Kepware, http://www.kepware.com , is one software package that can be used for this. The download/demo version will run for 2 hours, long enough to setup and test.

Others may offer more detailed info concerning using DDE or OPC but it would help if you said what PLC is involved or if the data from the 5 scales is interfaced state how.
