Hello,
I'm trying to create a lean way to log events from my Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC code, in a way that's similar to what's used in C development. I've tried Ignition's OPC server along with a SQL DB, which works pretty well, but not for high speed logging. It also comes with network overhead.
So, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Syslog (RFC 5424)? The Control Logix platform allows you to use the MSG instruction to send raw packets over ethernet with TCP. I figure one could use that to send Syslog messages. Has anybody done this? How did it work? Any pointers/references?
Thank you!
