hi,
Can any one help me with how to configure a 2.2Kv motor to a AB power flex 525 VFD
my application is to control a motor speed depending on the pressure on the discharge side of the motor, i have a pressure sensor on the discharge side which gives 4-20mA output.
so i aim is to control the speed of the motor with this 4-20mA current signal.

Welcome to the forum!

Just one (very important) thing to clarify: I assume you mean a 2.2kW motor, not a 2.2kV motor. That is, your motor has a rated power of 2.2 kilowatts, not that it requires a 2,200 Volt supply.

With that out of the way...

This should be very simple. Here's a link to the PowerFlex 520 series quick start manual. Have a look at the wiring diagram on page 13 and you should be able to figure out where to wire the 4-20mA from your sensor into, as well as how to wire up your start and stop signals. Then start at page 20 and work your way through the basic parameter startup.

That should get you started, have a go and let us know if you get stuck!

Beside the correction pointed out by ASF, you will likely need to utilize the PID control capability in the 525 if your goal is to maintain a set point of output pressure. In the 525's there are pre-set "application groups" designed to cover very common uses of drives; what you are attempting to do is one of them. I suggest downloading the free software for programming all AB drives, called Connected Components Workbench, and utilize what's called the "Startup Wizard", then telling it you have a centrifugal pump in a pressure control loop. It will step you through the process of configuring the drive for that application.

A good point jraef. It's not clear from the OP whether they just wish for the speed to be proportional to the pressure feedback, or whether they want to control to an exact pressure. If the latter, then yes, a PID setup will be required.
