Display ASCII onto FactoryTalk

Good morning everyone!

Compact Logix v28
FactoryTalk v9.0

My coworker is having some issues. He needs to take a SINT value from a barcode scanner, displayed in ASCII, and display it on the FactoryTalk HMI, but hasn't had any luck. Thoughts? Tried COP function but not luck.

I'll have him check it out, is there a way to compile the ascii string together into one value at that point, or would he need multiple display boxes?
