In a RS232 - RS485 converter cable for PLC of Siemens, there is a baud rate control.
Anybody can explain me the baud rate control useful please?

Thank you for advance

Do you mean the switch on the PC adapter (19.2 / 38.4)?

It's just there to tell the RS-232 side what communications baud rate to expect from the PC. 38.4 is faster than 19.2, but with some computers (especially older ones) 38.4 might be unreliable.
