No! The pulse just bump the valve position open or closed a little. Since the valves are motorized, they don't return to a null position like the servo valves you and I are familiar with.

1000 counts/rev is not very good. If a cycle takes 4 seconds then that is only one count every 4 milliseconds.
BTW, Gasbarre uses our controllers. All their camming is done electronically....

Are you dealing in two or three dimensional space? The motion controllers usually just take scalar numbers for each axis. Position can be negative depending on the coordinate system....
