How is your ground? other than a grounding issue I can think of anything that would cause it... You maybe able to use a 2080-SDMEMRTC-SC and load the program to that...

I used Fire Eye's for flame detection and several different LEL's...

What driver are you using in RSLinx? Some times ETHIP (Ethernet/IP Driver) will not find them, so make sure you use Ethernet Devices ETH and just set the IP address of the PLC

Odds are you will need a 1784-U2DHP, sorry for the news... on second thought I would use the old laptop for the PCMCIA and load the newer to the new laptop
