I am looking for a round, 8 pin din panel socket similar to this. To connect to SLC 500 ect..

Different manufactures call them by different names like bulk head, sockets, ports ect....
Does any have a idea as to where to get some of these?

Any help is appreciated, Thank you.

It is not an ethernet connector, It needs to be a 8 PIN MINI DIN like on a SLC 500 in the style of the photo.

When you say "9 PIN MINI DIN like on a SLC", that makes no sense. The SLC series of PLC's has DB9 ports and RJ45 ports (which are the same ones used for Ethernet). The MicroLogix series uses an 8 pin Mini DIN connector and if you're looking for a bulkhead pass through with that connector on either side (or one side for that matter) you won't find it. The DIN connector that Rockwell uses is a proprietary connector that is keyed so it will not interface with a standard 8 pin Mini DIN connector or plug.

I'm not sure you're going to find one that fits.

The only SLC-500 controller that has an 8-pin Mini-DIN connector is the SLC-5/04, and that's keyed and pinned for Data Highway Plus.

If you're trying to have a universal connector for both SLC-500 and MicroLogix controllers, you're better off using DB9 than the 8-pin Mini-DIN that's on the MicroLogix itself. Those are keyed and pinned differently than the connector for the SLC-5/04 DH+ port.

I've never seen a comparable DH+ style Mini-DIN connector available in a bulkhead style. Even Grace Engineering, the market leader in PLC-specific bulkhead connectors, doesn't offer one that I can find.

I have never seen the Mini DIN 8 as one but.... this is what I would do

Buy our CP7 adapter, this will convert the mini din 8 to a DB9, then you can use a DB9 bulkhead

We use to sell these, you can see the DB9 in the picture https://www.plccable.com/controllogix-slc-500-and-compactlogix-plc-nfpa-70e-cabinet-hardware-kit/

I want to mount it on a panel door so the door does not need to be opened
Thats why I started selling kits... NFPA70e

Anyway... use a CP7 to convert the mini din to a DB9 then you can use a DB9 bulkhead, then you can use this adapter to get back to the mini din if needed https://www.plccable.com/allen-bradley-1784-u2dhp-dh-adapter-plc5-1784-pcm6-1784-pcm5/
