codsys, 750-843

Thanks verry much

Shooter is correct. Click on the Resources tab of the Project Navigator, then select Target Settings from the selection tree. When the Target Settings dialog is display, click on the General tab and you should see the selection for Load bootproject automatically.

You need to use the Wago Ethernet settings program to turn bootP off.
It is a download on the site.
However it only looks for a bootP server on bootup, if it can't find one then it does whatever was in the bootproject that you set.

However if the 843 is as reliable as the 842 I would throw it out and replace it with an 841 or 871.
I have replaced so many dud 842s that won't get out of BootP mode that it is not funny.
And Wago have never come up with a solution

If there is a DHCP server on the network when the 750-843 boots up and BootP is running, it will get allocated a new IP address.

Two ways around this, don't have it connected to a network with a DHCP server or do as delae suggests and turn off BootP using the Ethernet settings tool.

It can be downloaded or it might be on the installation CD, hidden away somewhere.

You will almost certainly have to run the WAGO BootP Server program to reset the IP address to what you want/need. This should also be in the installation CD somewhere. DO THIS BEFORE DISABLING THE BootP service!!

There are two ways to de-activate the BootP protocol in a 750-843:

BootP can be disabled locally using WAGO Ethernet Settings. This utility can be downloaded from the WAGO website, and allows configuration of the 750-843 via a serial or USB cable to the front configuration port on the 750-843.

BootP can also be disabled remotely via ethernet, by changing the value of a configuration register in the 750-843. The configuration register (address 0x1028 or Modbus address 404137) is Modbus addressable, so any ModbusTCP driver or OPC server can access this register. The register value is 1 by default. Set it to 0 to disable BootP.
