Does anyone know where to get a copy of the lafdder builder program for the Keyence kv series PLC? They have it on there web site but it is a lot of money and I only need this for a project not for a comercial aplication. I am trying to make a more automatic brewing process for home brew staion i am in the process of building. If anyone had a copy of the program I could use or know somewhere that has a copy that is at a good price let me know. is there anyway to control a heater element using a plc with no anilog inputs? Is it a good idea to get a few cheap PID temp controlers and just hook them up to the inputs to monitor status of the heating elements?

Thanks
-Todd

Todd,

How much do they want for their software. I was always under the impression, and from what others have said that they don't charge for their software.

I did see at this link - http://world.keyence.com/topics/plc_programming/logic.html

That it is only for a trial version.

I wouldn't consider it a good idea to ask someone for a copy of software that they have already paid for. If it was free ware, that is a different story.

If you don't have the controller yet, you can always consider what we offer. Our software is a free download. The only thing you would need to do is register your information and we would send you a password.

In terms of controlling your heating element, the turning on and off of it, is not complicated. The analog is used so that you can have varing temperature settings. If you only want to do things with one or two temperatures, then switches will be sufficient. Simple digital inputs. But you won't be able to do PID with digital temperature switches.

Hope something I have said helps.

God Bless,

re:

thanks, keyence wanted almost $200 for the software, conection cable, and manuals. not to bad really just to much for a hobby. I have done very little but set point verifacation on PLC and am hoping to get a few good sites to learn from. again this is a hobby, I like this type of stuff and sometimes this is my sanity. I looked at the Entertron web site and will look a little more in the morning thanks for the link they seem to be a great corp for this industry. Thanks again, I am sure I will see you all posting around here.

$200 isn't that expensive for software - do you have the hardware ? if so , then it might be worthwhile .
For what it is worth , don't take any notice of that worthless pikey "Kar"
if the software has a price , then it needs to be paid for , "Kar" is one of the guys who turns up on site and copies other guys work , let him rot.

Is there any Keyence software to just put PLC program into the Keyence PLC without all that Ladder Builder complicated interface?

I remember there was a DOS program to put program into the Keyence PLC. Does somebody have a copy or link to it?

It is not easy to explain to production people how to program Keyence PLC with the Ladder!

We use PLC Install Manager to write program in Keyence PLCs, mostly because of serialization function.

http://www.plcutils.com

It is way less work in compare with modification of serial numbers by hands in the Ladder Builder. :)

Hi, David Marxer your link expired do you or someone have PLC Install Manager.
I canno't find this program by google or torr... Please help me sending new link
