RSView Studio ME Data Collection

Does anyone know if I can log all of the alarms generated to the CF card in the PV+1250?

My app requires that I save all of the data to a hard-storage device.

Also, slightly off topic, how does one start and stop collecting data in the data-logging graphical trending library that is supplied?

For example, I really only want to start logging data when an active process is enabled. I can't see anything that is related to how the data is initiated or stopped in Studio.

I don't think you will be able to do either of those things in ME. At the best, you can print out alarms, but the level of control over alarming and datalogging on ME is virtually non-existant compared to SE.

It doesn't even support DataLogOn/Off commands.

What is the purpose of the CF card then?

Recipies? Application Backup? Firmware Upgrades? Standard thingy on most Windows CE terminals?

Basically, the PV Plus, is still, a Panelview. A low end, point HMI without a whole lot of smarts.

It's an arguement in favour the 'Newer is not always better'.
